Factory Hygienist

Minimum Educational Qualification: University graduate or equivalent (preferred food science related) Minimum Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years proven experience in similar field

Nestlé Nigeria is currently looking to hire a Factory Hygienist whose responsibilities include to support the factory in specific areas of expertise (e.g. food safety, HACCP, auditing, hygiene, pest control)
Main Responsibilities:
  • People and know-how:
  • Promote quality awareness across the plant. Contribute to competence development of quality professionals across the organisation as a member of the food safety team
  • System design:
  • Supports the design and update the specific quality procedures, instruction and tools which are directly related to their area of concern.
  • Set operational objectives in collaboration with the FS & Hygiene coordinator and Quality Assurance Manager
  • Ensures compliance with all hygiene indicators including Pathogen monitoring plan.
  • Line release after maintenance, foreign body prevention, intervention and shut down
  • Quality mastership:
  • Supports the Nestlé Continuous Excellence program in the quest for zero defect, including root cause analysis after incidents (or near misses) and DMAIC.
  • Supports activities to achieve compliance with the Nestlé Quality Management System requirements and other applicable instructions and standards.
  • Deliver training on hygiene and food safety.
  • NGMP and Hygiene:
  • Promote quality awareness across the plant. Contribute to competence development of quality professionals across the organisation as a member of the food safety team

  • Quality auditing and verification:
  • In their specific area of expertise, assess that the Nestlé Quality Management System is in place, and is obtaining expected results in each operating unit.
  • Supports Internal auditing process

What Will Make You Successful?
  • Academic Experience:
  • University graduate or equivalent (preferred food science related)

  • Operational Experience:
  • Demonstrated competence in their specific field to support business requirements:
  • Team member in a factory: Quality, Production Support, Application Group, or, Team member in the quality department of the Market, PTC/R&D, Centre, NRC, NQACs

  • Business Experience:
  • Experience in successfully implementing quality assurance programs:
  • Participating in project teams
  • Leading part of a change effort
  • Participating in audit teams and/or improvement projects with more senior staff members
  • Establishing networks of peers, in markets or factories
